The NFL football season is upon us, which means two things:
  • Time for another season of the Fantasy Football Prince Charming series
  • First & Goal will be available in ebook tomorrow
There will be plenty to hear about that second little tidbit beginning tomorrow, but until then, let's talk about our new season of fantasy football. And to start it off right, I'd like to introduce you to this year's new batch of prince charming candidates.

What Yahoo had to say about the menfolk:
In Spite of Some Early-Round Reaches, Dread Pirate Rodgers Will be a Tough Team
Playoffs?! Are you kidding me, playoffs?! Actually, yeah that could happen. Dread Pirate Rodgers put together a quality team and is projected to finish in sixth-place in Straight Outta Spokompton League at 6-7-0 (1,449 points). They focused on having a balanced offensive attack, selecting QB Aaron Rodgers (14th overall), RB Jeremy Hill (11th), WR Davante Adams (35th), and TE Travis Kelce (38th) within the first five rounds. They have the top QB pair in the league, as they added Rodgers and Matthew Stafford to their squad.

Team 2: Cinderella's Fellas
Motto: A dream is a wish your heart makes. This Cinderella is your worst nightmare.
Draft Grade: B
Projected Finish: 5 of 12
  • Andrew Luck (quarterback)
  • Joe Flacco (quarterback)
  • Brandin Cooks (wide receiver)
  • Davante Adams (wide receiver)
  • Jarvis Landry (wide receiver)
  • Pierre Garcon (wide receiver)
  • Eddie Royal (wide receiver)
  • Phillip Dorsett (wide receiver)
  • Cecil Shorts III (wide receiver)
  • Carlos Hyde (running back)
  • Andre Ellington (running back)
  • Giovani Bernard (running back)
  • David Johnson (running back)
  • Branden Oliver (running back)
  • Owen Daniels (tight end)
  • Charles Clay (tight end)
  • Mason Crosby (kicker)
  • Houston (defense)
  • Cleveland (defense)

What Yahoo had to say about the menfolk:
In Spite of Some Early-Round Reaches, Cinderella's Fellas Is a Team to Keep an Eye On
Cinderella's Fellas parlayed a solid draft slot (fifth overall) into a respectable performance. With a mark of 7-7-0 (1,744 points), they're projected to finish fifth in Ukeptem5 League. They used a conservative plan early to fill out their lineup, selecting QB Andrew Luck (5th overall), RBs Carlos Hyde (44th) and Andre Ellington (53rd), and WRs Brandin Cooks (20th) and Davante Adams (29th). They put together one of the most prolific QB duos in the league, as they added Luck and Joe Flacco.
Stay tuned for updates on how my boys do this season. New fantasy posts will be up on Tuesdays.

I'm not the only one on a potentially ill-fated fantasy football journey. So is Harper Duquaine, the main character in First & Goal!

Now Available on Amazon , Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.
Coming Soon to paperback!

About the Book
When Harper Duquaine’s no-nonsense approach to work unintentionally ruffles the wrong feathers at her new job, she joins her co-workers’ fantasy football league to prove she can hang with the guys. Only problem: she doesn’t know a sleeper from a keeper (or any of the other lingo thrown her way).

Embroiled in a world of lineups, stats, and trades, Harper’s quest to make nice topples when her competitive streak emerges. And her promise to herself that she’ll be a strong, independent woman and leave the drama and heartache behind is seriously tested when she catches the attention of her two biggest competitors: J.J., a local celebrity determined to win a fantasy championship, and Brook, the mild-mannered coach who seems too good to be true. Both threaten her resolve to remain single… and, more importantly, her chances at winning the prize pool.

With a slew of conflicting advice in her real and fantasy worlds, Harper must figure out how to play the game and come out a winner.
